Encouraging Words for the Week

Encouraging Word for the Week, I am Rachel Tolliver, “ If we don’t know the Bible, if we don’t know doctrine, if we don’t know theology, it is virtually impossible for us to Identify false prophets” Voddie Baucham. Beloved, He’s saying that without a deep, working knowledge of Scripture, sound doctrine, and theology, believers are vulnerable—easily deceived by charismatic personalities, trendy teachings, or emotional appeals that contradict biblical truth. Beloved, Doctrine isn’t just information—it’s formation. It shapes character, fuels worship, and drives obedience. It builds unity: Truth is the foundation of love and fellowship. Without it, the church fractures into factions. It equips for mission: Sound doctrine gives the church a prophetic voice, not just a comforting echo. It enables bold, clear witness in a confused world.

Welcome to Biblical Talks Encouraging Word for the Week, I am Rachel Tolliver, Beloved, a ship is made to sail in the water—but when water gets inside the ship, it sinks. In the same way, you are called to live in the world, but the world must not live in you. When John warns us in 1 John 2 not to love the world, he’s not talking about the planet. He’s talking about a corrupt system—organized, seductive, and led by Satan—that pulls our hearts away from God’s love and God’s will. So, beloved, set your affection on the One who loved you first and saved you by grace.
